Booze Brothaz Golf League

We love to have fun but we also want to keep the competition fair for all our members. Please review the rules below and let us know if you have any questions or concerns.

1. GHIN Requirement
   • All players must have an active GHIN handicap with at least 6 recorded rounds before the first event. No GHIN, no points. No, “GHIN and tonic” will not be accepted as an alternative.
2. PayPal Ready
   • PayPal is the official cash app. For consistency, all fees, side bets, and payouts will be done through PayPal. No “IOUs”, gold bars, bitcoin, pink slip, or monopoly money please.
3. Tees
   • All players play from the designated league tees that will be announced well ahead of time before the round. Don’t worry we have enough pride not to play from the red tees and smart enough not to play from the tips!
4. Putt Everything Out
   • No “gimmies” – every putt must be holed out. Embrace those 3-foot knee-knockers with pride!
5. Attested Scorecards
   • Scores must be attested and signed by another player before submission. Apps that we use for live scoring and leaderboard will not be used as official scorecards.
6. Drop Zones / Lost Balls
   • Standard USGA drop rules apply. Let’s not have “I think it’s in bounds” miracles when everyone in the group saw the ball trespass in someone’s yard almost causing your insurance premium to go up.
7. Long Drive
   • Must be in the fairway to count. Fairway = grass cut for the fairway, not the rough, trees, or cart path. Placing the ball on a sod that you brought with you is unfortunately no bueno.
8. Points Eligibility
   • You must play at least 8 rounds to qualify for season standings. Why? We want to hangout with you often!
9. Majors
   • Majors are worth 2x points. See Points System page for the breakdown of points awarded per event.
10. Tiebreaker (Monthly events)
    • If there is a tie, it will be decided in the following order:
      • Best score on number 1 handicap hole
      • If still tied, best front 9 score
      • If still tied, best back nine score
      • If still tied, players will split 1st & 2nd place prize (money, points, booze, bragging rights, etc.) evenly. Geez, why copy each other’s scores? This is not an exam!
11. Tiebreaker (Playoffs)
    • Ties for first in season standings will be decided in the following order:
      • Number of wins
      • If still tied, average of score differential
      • If still tied, head-to-head full round match!
12. No Makeup Rounds
    • Each event must be played on the official scheduled date. No solo rounds, no do-overs, no “I’ll catch it next week”, and no time travels. Winners and points will be awarded on the day of the event.
13. Side Games
    • Long Drive, Closest to Pin, and any other side contests are optional but official — all winners must be confirmed by at least one other player. No points earned from these side games but participation is encourage. These are bragging rights worthy!
14. Foursomes
    • Foursomes will be randomly drawn for each event to mix things up and to encourage everyone to meet other members. It is OK to cheat on your golf buddies.
15. Conduct
    • Friendly trash talk is encouraged and part of the fun. Personal attacks, club throwing, bad “yo mama jokes”, cart fights, and similar behaviors will not be tolerated and will result in loss of points (and dignity!). Let’s keep if fun but respectful please.
